Today Sony have rolled out the first EDGE network wireless WAN and WLAN/Bluetooth notebook complete with CD/DVD burning facilities. It won't however connect with UTMS if that is available.

The new Vaio T350 notebook, with list prices starting at $2,199, is equipped with an internal modem based on the EDGE technology deployed across Cingular Wireless' national network.

While many cell companies in other countries offer EDGE service, the Sony laptops are only configured to connect through an account with Cingular.

It is not a cheap bugger with prices starting at $2,299 and won't work with the WAN outside America but that is probably OK for 95% of American users.
