It should be no surprise to anyone that more people are watching videos on their mobile devices. However, Riley Wilson from The Content Standard found the numbers may be surging faster than any of us previously thought.
Ooyala reports that 200% more videos were watched on mobile phones and tablets during Q3 2014 than during Q3 2013. A portion of this is being attributed to the World Cup, which ESPN made easy to stream, as well as Facebook's newest autoplay feature.
Nielsen reports a 16% increase in online video viewing amongst the 18 - 34 year old demographic, with tablet and smartphone viewership peaking during the evening (home) hours and PC viewership peaking midday during work hours.
