Survey: Shoppers Prefer to Start Their Search With Amazon

A new survey found that "Amazon is the preferred starting point for product search."

38% of 1,000 respondents said they start with Amazon, 35% start with Google, 21% start with a specific brand or retailer website, and 6% fell into the "other" category.

Free shipping, good prices and deals, and product variety are what Amazon shoppers gave as their reason for starting there. Interestingly, the same survey found that online shoppers - even if they search online - more often make their actual purchase in person at a physical store.
