They have the pipes to do this. They did all that live streaming (for UK residents only, drat) of the Olympics this summer. Why should Tivo steal the march?
I also heard BBC is developing an open source code for streaming media. This so they don't have to pay royalties for using WindowsMedia, RealMedia or Quicktime.
