Google mistake spreads email worm

Google on Tuesday inadvertently sent the Kama Sutra email worm to the 50,000 subscribers of a Google Video email group.

Three postings were made on Tuesday evening to an email list that sends out postings to the Google Video blog. "Some of these posts may have contained a virus called W32/Kapser.A@mm — a mass-mailing worm," Google said in a note on its website apologising for the incident.

And it's a real apology

In typical Google fashion, straight to the point and no weaseling out of it.

We're sorry for any inconvenience, and we're taking steps to ensure
that this doesn't happen again.

Couldn't ask for anything more. A real apology, and assurance they're fixing the problem.

Bad Sites

Well let's hope they don't get labeled as a bad site promoting malware because you know there'd be no sense of ironic justice if that happened ...

ha - I would love to see
