Affiliate traffic networks are apparently a big problem in the mobile world these days. Now Google says that they're next on the chopping block.
According to an article from SEL, Search Quality Senior Strategist Andrey Lipattsev said that he's working on detecting and penalizing "mobile affiliate traffic driving networks [where] users are just being bounced from one place to another." Apparently these are sometimes added by publishers, with purpose, for the extra cash...but sometimes they get slipped in by publishers or advertisers who are unaware of what they really are.
If you're one of the unaware types, sounds like it could be time for an investigation.
