Link Value Calculator

Some TWers probably already have similar internal tools, but Text Link Ads recently announced a new tool to price the value of text links.

I can't read the price on DaveN's blog though.

any ideas

Any ideas how this is calculated? Alexa?

Not sure how realistic

But it sure is a fun little tool

Easter Eggs

Barry got a special one as does my blog and seomoz.org, webguerrilla.com, mattcutts.com, shoemoney.com,jeremy.zawodny.com/blog/, yahoo.com, msn.com and don't forget google.com.

I'm sure there's a few I missed.

This site approximates what they'll pay you.

These guys are link retailers. This tool gives an estimate of what they will pay you per month for text links.

Setting aside the "link spam" conspiracy theories and arguments, I think since it would be easy enough for any of the search engines to "identify and punish" sites that use networks like this, I'd say it's not worth the risk to do these sorts of things.

bbc.co.uk

I like the lightly humorous reply when typing www.bbc.co.uk and other high traffic sites.

I know almoust all other

I know almoust all other similar tools, but this one exceeds them by far.

It would be nice to know where did it gets the data yes. PR and IBL's i know, but the rest ? outbound links, alexa, technorati, etc..

The jokes that i found in the JS are pretty neat :

case 'priceless':
hideTagNotice();
result = '    Priceless!    ';
break;
case 'moreafford':
hideTagNotice();
result = 'More Than YouCan Afford';
break;
case 'funny':
hideTagNotice();
result = 'Haha, Very Funny';
break;
case 'printzeros':
hideTagNotice();
result = 'We Can\'t PrintThat Many Zeros';
break;
case 'fuh-get':
hideTagNotice();
result = 'Fuh-get about it!';
break;
case 'mc':
hideTagNotice();
result = '';
break;
case 'seo':
hideTagNotice();
result = '';
break;
case 'jrmy':
hideTagNotice();
result = '';
break;
case 'naylor':
hideTagNotice();
result = '';
break;
case 'msn':
hideTagNotice();
result = '';
break;
case 'seort':
hideTagNotice();
result = '';
break;
case 'shoe':
hideTagNotice();
result = '';
break;
case 'tla':
hideTagNotice();
result = '';
break;
case 'guerilla':
hideTagNotice();
result = '';
break;
case 'wolf':
hideTagNotice();
result = '';
break;

Just put www.msn.com at the URL :)

That is a great tool!

That is a great tool!

OMG WTF BBQ

It looks so professional when they put a picture of Dr. Evil from Austin Powers when you put their site. I dont know about you guys, but I would think they would have a tool that gives out legitimate information every time...but then again, they are selling those links.

Dude... You are so NOT close

Dude... You are so NOT close to the truth.

Those are practical easter bunnies (jokes).

Just type www.msn.com - It shows no price, and a Bill Gates Borg-alike picture (for all you StarTrek fans).

AH

Ah i see. Gotcha. nvm then. ;P

I just get weird comments?!

I just get weird comments?! like not enough zeros and fugettaboutit and stuff like that?

If you put www.google.com

If you put www.google.com (maybe others) in the URL box, and change different niches, that's what you will get.

Search Sellers Suggestion Tool?

I'm wondering if they're going to use this as a search sellers suggestion tool.

Lovers can dig it, so it

Lovers can dig it, so it seems, speaking of viral marketing.

Digg

They listen to feedback and suggestions ;-)

Good then :)

Good then :)
