SEO Roadshow

The SEO Roadshow, the self proclaimed "Black Tie event of SEO, Tie Optional" kicks off tomorrow with lots of people flying into to Copenhagen today.

I am sure that the level of spam on the web will drop this weekend, but new and freshly invigorated SEOs will be back to work (although almost definately hung over) next week.

Have fun everyone and I wish I could be there with you, though feel free to harrass Raf! If you are in Copenhagen this weekend, or bored and fancy a trip to a wonderful city then ask about for an invite and get your arse to Denmark!

Yeah, all you guys running

Yeah, all you guys running around in my back yard having fun and then my friggin' brother is getting married in another part of the country.. that sucks big time... I'll try to make it, but if I don't .. well, drink one for me as well, guys 'n girls.

It ain't just my eyes that

It ain't just my eyes that are green...

I'm green with envy. I'll be there next year...

:(

I did not know about this event :/

I live in Oslo and would sure have attended had I known...

green with envy

as well you should be, what with the finest beards in search (and lots of others) attending, heh.

Being the well bred search engine spammer I am, of course I'll leave it to our kind hosts to file a full report, but seeing you all who didn't make it this time attend next year is definitely something we all look forward to. :-)

It is always in Copenhagen?

It is always in Copenhagen?

Thanks to all

Another friendly, understated event. Well worth the effort as usual. Hats off to NFFC, RC and the Vikings for the strangest venue so far!

Always in Copenhagen? Not likely.

Before it's formally announced, nobody barring the organizers knows for sure where it'll actually take place. Kind of a mystery con, heh.

The last two we attended before this one took place in London and Edinburgh and we're seriously considering organizing one in a German castle (hopefully with full broadband access) in 2008 or thereabouts, but if my personal preference for real ale is anything to go by, it'll be in the UK again next year.

And yes, it was indeed the strangest of venues, out in a squat embellished with lots of weird graffiti on a roof garden across from no less than two junk yards and featuring a sardine can for a lift; but a damn good view over the city nevertheless and a great, if somewhat unlikely, location/occasion very conducive to generating yet more spam if only to pay for next year's event. :)

But again, let our Viking hosts come up and do the full report - and thanks a heap for graciously organizing this plus the odd dinner or two before and after as well!

Copenhagen

Wonderful wonderful indeed. Many thanks to the guys organising for a top few days in 'chilly' Copenhagen ... tee-shirts in Denmark in September? Global warming methinks. Very good to see people, get drunk, talk rubbish and, as ever, come back with a couple of sparks of inspiration. Time well and enjoyably spent

Hear, Hear!

Had a grand time, some good food, fine beer (still have all my shoes), and excellent conversation. Loved the venue, the hotel worked very well, and allow me to echo the rounds of thanks - RC and Louise, NFFC and all from Notabene.

And as for next year? Milan and Oktoberfest may be going head to head, so it seems. Food versus beer.

Thanks again.

Thank you all for coming!

With out all the good guys and girls attending the show wouldn't be the same :) A head count showed around 50 people at one point enjoying the beer, the sun and the excellent company.

From an organising standpoint I think it was a great success. We had our doubts wether the venue would be too different and far out, but it seemed that once people found it and arrived at the top floor, all was good. We choose it mainly for the fabulous view over Copenhagen and it sure showed itself from it's best side with 25c and blue sky (phew!)

Personally I would have enjoyed to sit down and talk to everybody, but as usual that's kind of hard when you reach 50+ people, however I really enjoyed the Show a lot this time and I'm looking forward to the next one already.
As Fanto mentioned above, nobody knows when and where it will be (yet), but a few very interesting places have already been on the drawing board - so stay tuned to the blog :)

Again, thanks to all the attendees for a good time and it was pleasure showing some of you the fine bits of Danish cuisine ;)

See you all again soon!

BTW, if you have any pictures from the venue, we'd very much like a copy! Please give me a buzz or send a PM through Treadwatch. Thanks! :)

*LAUGH*

Ian looks like a Mountain Man. Has he been on a desert island..talking to volleyballs? I think he was wearing the same shirt at the last road show:

And NFFC (far left) appears to be wearing *gasp* a SUIT?

I actually like this one for its artistic value

clarification

i believe rumbas and torben did all of the footwork for setting this one up. they asked if they could host the roadshow and took it from there. (which is how one gets started, more on that later). obviously, notabene/jacob and other company officers were more than supportive of the idea because this takes a few kroner to do. the rest of us had the luxury of just having to show up.

Thanks

Had a great time, was sure worth the ride :-)

A real talking point

I've never been to a venue quite like it, although you couldn't have chosen a better place to host the event.

I wish that I'd mingled a bit more then I did, although the people I did meet were all top notch.

Looking forward to the next one, and here are my photo contributions:

Truth be told, louise was

Truth be told, louise was showing someone the camera's 12x optical zoom and they zoomed in on your beard for the detail/texture, 4eyes. BUT when we were culling the shots the photo seemed to express what goes on at roadshow so well (and it's a mouth that's made its presence known ever since the first pubconference at the Citte Of York, which is apropos).

Any chance of having our logo on your front tooth in the future?

Logo on your front tooth

You into PPB (pay-per-byte) now?

What a great [road] show!

What a fantastic city, perfect venue and wonderful hosts! [speaking of which http://www.notabene.net/ pwns Scandinavia].

For these who missed it catch up on the gossip;

Which shy and retiring UK SEO has taken to wearing a handbag?

At the bar where they served the beer in the huge glasses you had to leave your shoe with the barstaff to prevent you running off with the glass. Which directionally challenged Brit did they refuse to take the shoe of?

Which modest SEO God won the seoroadshow fashion award yet again?

Which dugeon dwelling SEO wowed us with his girlfriend to the extent that they have been called the Ashley Cole and Cheryl Tweedy of SEO?

Which good guy with the travel bug spent most of the trip with his tounge out? [yes the Danish girls really were ALL beautiful].

The clue is in the question - try again.

Now, if you had actually bothered to turn up at the event you might have made a better stab at the answers.

Tsk - part timers!
